In today’s hearing, bench led by Justice Tek Prashad Dhungana has directed the High Court, Tulshipur–Butwal Bench, to submit a formal clarification regarding the recent imprisonment order.
The case involves prominent politician Ravi Lamichhane, who stands accused of cooperative fraud. Earlier, the Rupandehi District Court had granted him release on bail. However, this decision was subsequently overturned by the High Court, Tulshipur–Butwal Bench, resulting in his detention.
Now, the Supreme Court will await the clarification from the High Court before proceeding toward a final verdict in the matter.
